Planning is under way with map routes being sketched out and using this as a way to organise the routes, places to stay and a general dumping group for research for all things LeJog.

FAQ

What's the total distance?

About 1100 miles, direct end to end cycling route is about 900 miles, however I'm looking to do a more scenic route, if your going to do it then do it with some nice scenery to look at, this will likely add a good 200+ miles on but should be a lot more fun then cycling through cities.

Why do this?

Mid-life crisis and it's on every cyclists bucket list of things to do.  Having spent the last couple of years building up miles and generally going round in circles in Nottingham it would be nice to do something different and for me this would be a major achievement.

How long is it likely to take?

I'll be aiming to do 100 to 150 miles a day in 9 days or less, ideally I'm planning for 9 days however weather may well may play a part, I'm taking a flexible approach so may do more or less on any given day with the possibility of a couple of rest days chucked in for chilling before big ride days.

What training is involved?

I was doing 300km + a week before the accident and will be attempting to do similar once fully recovered working up to put together consecutive centuries in order to be in good condition when this is attempted.  The Strava logging is shown to the left of this page.

Training schedule leading upto September:

When are you attempting this?

Booked the campervan for start of September 2016.

What support will you have?

I'm lucky enough to have an understanding adventurous partner in Adrienne Ellis who will be driving a camper van for the trip with the company of her dad Stuart, the idea being you can do a couple of 50 mile stages and then either stop for the night or go and ride another 50 miles.
